error when upgrading to xo pro

Got the following error when upgrading from xp home to xp
pro:

"Error: Installtion failed d:\i386\arms. Error message:
The request could not be preformed because of an I/O
device error. One of the componets that windows needs to
continue setup could not be installed"

The same xp pro cd works in another system.
 
Hi

If you mean 'asms' - that error message could indicate a bad burn. Are you installing from the original XP CD?
