I have a newly rebuilt machine - XP / SP2 with all updates. This was a
'format up' rebuild. I just tried to uninstall MSN Explorer and got an error
code: 0xe0000102. The message said the uninstall would continue - and it did.
When I try to re-install MSN Explorer, it can't find a couple of files, for
which I have to provide the original XP installation CD. Repeating the above
procedure produces the same result. Can someone explain what is going on here
and / or reaasure me that I don't need to be concerned. There is some
evidence on the web (Google) that others have experinced the same thing, but
there is no expanation anywhere that I can find. Thanks...

You do not uninstall MSN Explorer, but reinstall overtop of the old one.
Try SCF (System File Check). This will replace missing or corrupt
system files. Start>Run>type SFC /SCANNOW and press OK
The is a space between C and /

I don't know what you mean. You go to Add / Remove Windows Components,
uncheck the MSN Explorer box, click Next and it uninstalls it - at least it
does exactly that on my laptop, also running XP / SP2. I also don't
understand the 'reinstall overtop of the old one' bit...I simply wanted to
remove the MSN Explorer Component cleanly, as I don't use it. But...I'm
getting this error on the way through. SCF doesn't work by the way...
