I seem to be receiving all my emails and can view them through Windows Mail.
However, I cannot send messages using Windows Mail and am provided with the
following error:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Subject', Account:
'email.cudenver.edu', Server: 'email.cudenver.edu', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

How do I connect to the server if I am not already connected? Also, is this
problematic connection associated with a "Socket Error?"

By getting your settings right and getting rid
of incompatible anti virus software.

That is what the message says.

You might try changing your port to 587 via

Tools > Accounts > your email > Properties > Advanced

Then try sending again, also...

Which antivirus are you using?
