Error setting up Outlook w Earthlink email account

It all 'tests' fine, but when I try to send/receive, I get an error that
says, "Sending' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation
failed. An object could not be found.'" I've set up new profiles, reloaded
Outlook, contacted Earthlink, and they had only the above generic solutions.
What do I do to make Outlook find my Earthlink account?
