how can i get outlook to work with earthlink email?

Guest

I have an earthlink email account, and I want to access it through outlook.
I have tried the earthlink setup function, and followed all the directions
from both earthlink and outlook / microsoft. Still, every time I attempt to
send a message while in outlook, I get the following,
Task '(e-mail address removed) - Sending' reported error (0x8004010F) :
'The operation failed. An object could not be found.'
What am I doing wrong?

If you are using Outlook 2002 or 2003, try using the Test Account Settings.
If you get an error, please report the full text of the error.

Try creating a new mail profile here: Control Panel->Mail Icon->Show
Profiles->New. Do not copy your old profile, create a new one.

This may or may not help. Earthlink has done a security upgrade to their
mail servers, and I received the e-mail below from them a couple of weeks
ago. I made the changes manually myself, and there was nothing to it.
