Error 'sconwindow' cannot be found ???

Hi,

A few users receive this error ("the
macro 'scnwindow' cannot be found") when opening an
excel document received as an attachment in Outlook or
opening Excel books via Internet Explorer.

The file never does load properly and Excel needs to be
closed and restarted.

However, if I open up the file via Explorer, it works
just fine. Any ideas???

Macro sconwindow not found

Hi Darren,

I experienced the same error message today. These errors occured after accepting the automatic updates for my Win XP pro system. It's too coincidental for this to happen directly after an upgrade. I did not see anything posted on Microsoft's Web site.

Here's how I solved:

Tools - Windows Update (i have all the critical fixes so I had to search non critical)

Download/Install KB900930 and BB896344

Restart machine - error disappears

Spec's:

Win XP Pro
Office 2003
1 GB Ram
Pentium 3
