I donwlaod updates and they won't intall. Updates are on. error is not in
microsoft database.

You could check to see if any certificates are blocking access to Windows
Update.

In Internet Explorer, Go to tools, internet options, content, certificates.
Then go to the tab "untrusted publishers"
Remove the items containing "Microsoft".
reboot and try again
