error 0x8024000C when trying to install SP2 on XP Pro (32 bit)

After replacing a bad motherboard, and doing a XP repair, SP1 loaded OK.
When trying to update to SP2 the MS web says I already have SP2 intalled and
gives error 0x8024000C when trying to download. Any suggestions welcomed

Could you try running a check to make sure you don't already have service
pack 2. Click Start > Run > type "winver"(w/o quotes) > Click ok > in
version it should say your service pack number here. Let us know so that we
know which way to go with any support we can give you.
