error. "Not a valid account name or password"

I have office 2000 and am trying to create a blank database, but Access is
asking me for a user name and password. No matter what I put in, it says it
is invalid. Since I'm trying to create a brand new database, why is it
asking me for a password anyway? How do I get around this?

The workgroup file to which you are joined has a password associated with
the Admin user.

Join a different workgroup (maybe the one that ships with Access called
system.mdw).
