Access seeks password on exit, but insists my password is not vali

I run Access 2007. Our database requests a password when we open it. This
is not a problem, we can open and use the database.

The problem is when I try to close it, it prompts for a password, which I
duly enter. Then the password request repeats as soon as I have input it.
This can happen between 2 to several times. Eventually it declares, "Not a
valid password".

This happens when I try to:
- Save it / backup
- Compact & repair
- Change settings

Does anyone have any idea why this will be happening, and how to overcome it?

The only things I can think which I may have done differently recently, is I
installed Sage Instant Accounts (groan).

Any help will be greatly appreciated. If I find a fix meanwhile I will
update.

Hi, another forum ("acessforums.net") helpfully returned a reply to this
problem. So a big thanks to RuralGuy from accessforums.net!

The solution is:
- Open a new blank database
- Import all the database objects over from your dodgy original database,
into the fresh new one (Important: Whilst importing your objects, you need
to go through all the various tabs, and "Select All", for all of the
different object types, in order to perform a complete transfer).
- Change any relevant options under Access Options, to match your original,
and...

Tah-dah, it's up and working again. Great! :)
