error:no twain compliant device found

When trying to scan using an HP 3015 PL6 an error message occurs: "No twain
compliant device found". In researching I think I may be missing a file
"wiatwain.ds " or waitwain.ds". Anyone had this problem? Appreciate input.

since this is not related to XP OS, I have no clue.
but have you loaded ANY drivers for this device?
and what software are you using to scan?
