even though it is not beta live messenger still has problems i recomend using
7.0 as it is in my opinion the safest version of msn if the problem proceeds
maybe it is a firewall problem?

I would have to question your comment with regards to 7.0 being the safer
option for I also cannot sign in with the latest version and yet cannot sign
in with 7.0 either. Otherwise i have had no problem with 8 before today.

I can only speculate that they may be doing upgrades to selected servers
that is why only a few are being affected.

Dear all if you have not heard simply add these addresses to the following
file that should be opened with notepad and MSN will work.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts - (When you open the ETC folder open
the HOSTS file using notepad).

insert the following addresses:

65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com
65.54.239.80 dp.msnmessenger.skadns.net

(INSERT THEM DIRECTLY UNDER THE OTHER 2 ADDRESSES AND ALIGN THEM WITH TAB.)

Easy done ... good luck.

Dear Raphael,

I would like to confirm with you if I should paste your commands underneath:

# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

OR

127.0.0.1 localhost

, please?

My hosts file is like following:

# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

=======================================

SO I would like to confirm with you and make it clearly.

Thanks a lot for your help!
