Error Message

I am getting a message when I try to connect to the
internet through Earthlink Cable. It says that Internet
Explorer has encountered a problem and do I want to send
an error report. I've sent several, but I still cannot
access the net. I can retrieve my email, but no use of
the web. I have a Dell 2400, Internet Explorer 6.0, and
Earthlink Total Access 2003.

I too am getting the same error! I connect through a cable modem. My America Online works....but not Internet Explorer (ver. 6). Error message: "IE has encountered a problem and needs to close" This message comes up in a dialogue box....not a webpage. HELP!!!
I have a Dell Dimension 4500 and running XP home edition. Dell doesn't even know how to fix!
Do I need to uninstall IE and re-install?
How can this be done if it is now a windows component and not a seperate program?

I am getting the same error. I am running windows NT and
I am running comcast highspeed internet with Internet
Explorer 6.0 and can check my e-mail but cannot use the
web. If anyone has an idea how to fix this I would
appreciate the help.

After reading further I fixed it!
Although this might only be temporary.I'm not sure, but I
do know it works and I can get online now. Go to Control
Panel, Click Internet Options. Click the Advanced
tab...UNCHECK..Enable 3rd Party File extensions. You
might have to restart.
I have been told that this could be part of the MYDOOM
virus...I'm doing more research

You only disable the parasite, get down to the problem.
