Whenever I boot up XP I get the message:

Error loading c:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files
\bridge.dll
The specified module could not be found.

Any thoughts on how I might get rid of this error?

.
Go to start---run---type in msconfig---enter---startup
tab---look for
c:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll
uncheck the box for it,apply,OK,restart, when the utility
box comes up check the box don't show again and OK,That
will stop it from looking for it.What can give you this
is spyware scanners or removers that remove
spyware, sometimes it leaves the entry in the startup
folder but it cant start because the spyware remover
removed it.

PS. If you don't have a scanner, get one from
http://www.webattack.com/get/adaware.shtml
Ad-Aware it's free.Update it and run it thru. Now for the
msconfig thing, you can remove this entry by going to this
site(run by a Microsoft MVP)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
look at line 148 right colume---remove unchecked items
from msconfig---download it(I have it in my documents)
gothere open it up and remove the listing for that
c:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll
OK now for my 2 cents,I like my computer to start up
fast,so I uncheck everything in the msconfig startup tab
except for the antivirus and firewall, then I remove the
listings for the rest of the junk.(I don't like the kids
Aim IM msn messager poping up at startup and then all
there friends slaming me with HI,LOL junk before I get to
turn it off.I unchecked everything,then restart,go to
start all programs,find the antivirus,open it up,options
and select it to come on at startup, same with the
firewall,Thats all I need at startup anyway,if I want the
other things I'll open them up myself when I need
them,this way I have a very fast startup(3 to 7 seconds)
and I don't have all that stuff running in the background
eatting up RAM (got 512,395 available right now)and i'm
only using 2% of my processore, with all the programs on
at startup...take 1-2 minutes to start,150 RAM
available,using 48% of the processore.I have better
things to do with the processore than to have it being
used with programs I don't use.Just my 2 cents.Good Luck.
