during every boot, I get an error message "Internet
Explorer has encountered a problem accessing
C:\windows\downloaded Program files\bridge.dll

The specified module is not available"

It's spyware/adware related. The application is WinFavorites.Bridge. You can find out more information (and some help getting rid of it) at http://www.pestpatrol.com/pestinfo/w/winfavorites_bridge.asp It appears to be a commerical site, but there does indeed appear to be some good information. Consider starting with SpyBot or AdAware to attempt to remove it.
