Error Message Windows XP

After loading Service Pack 2, my system crashed and would not open. Got
"explorer.exe - entry point not found.

I tried going into Safe Mode, I got to there and it wouldn't open.

I tried to resstore to a time prior to, would not do it.

I created a boot disk in my laptop and loaded it on
A, but can't get to a C prommpt.

Very stuck. Need help please.
