Error message when sending from outgoing mail.

I am having a problem with sending my outgoing message. I get an error
message when I hit the "send/receive" button. This message box comes up "The
operation failed. The object could not be found." I'm not sure what that
means. My POP3 and SMTP are working fine. I've tested the e-mail account
and it was successful. I've talked to my ISP (Comcast) and they said it is a
software issue. So, they gave me a number to Microsoft to resolve the issue
with them and they recommended to reinstall the software. My PC tech support
told me to do the same thing. So, I uninstalled and re-installed
Professional Edition, did a "detect and repair" from Outlook and still
getting the same message. Also, I contacted my McAfee Virus protection
support on my personal firewall configuration and they did not know what was
wrong with my Outlook. I don't know what else to do. I have not use Outlook
since I bought my a couple of months ago. Please help!

Thanks,
Alina

Alina,

This is just an idea here. Does your McAfee have it's email scanning
function turned on? You can get to that from within the McAfee application
itself. You really don't need additional email virus scanning and it doing
so causes more errors than it's worth. To make sure you understand my
position on this and WHY I say this I'll explain. Your antivirus is already
going to scan any file before it's opened, it does this by design. Having it
interact with the email application is counter productive as it's going to
have scanned it anyways assuming you have it's real time protection enabled.
It's safe and an often used fix for this sort of problem and might be what's
causing your issues. Beyond that are you 100% certain that your email
account settings are correct? I'd go ahead and delete the account and try to
set it up anew if disabling the email scanning options within McAfee doesn't
work.
