I have comcast as my ISP and am running outlook 2003 I have made sure my
outgoing settings are set to 587 so that is not the problem I can receive
email but not send. I also have McAfee antivirus software. My error message
when I try to send email is as follows: Task 'mail.comcast.net - Sending
reported error (0x80042109) Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing
(SMTP) email server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your
server administrator or your ISP. can anyone help?

My outgoing mail server was already set to smtp.comcast.net
So thats not the problem either. I've called comcast and they said its a
problem with microsoft outlook. Which I am pretty sure its not. Its
comcast. But can't fix the problem
