Unable to send email after installing Office Service Pack 3

Once I installed Office 2000 Service Pack 3 I am now unable to send an emails
out. I still get all inbound emails but I am unable to send and get the
following error -

Task 'mail.comcast.net - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook is
unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to
receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service
provider (ISP).'

Does anyone know how to resolve this? I am using Outlook 2003.

Thanks!

Why would you install an Office 2000 service pack on Outlook 2003?

Sorry I made a mistake. It is Office 2003 not 2000.

With Outlook closed, try deleting the (hidden) file
%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\yourprofile.srs (where "yourprofile" is your
mail profile name) and see if that changes anything.
