I receive the following error: The connection to the server has failed.
Subject '', Account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error
Number: 0x800CCC0E

The situation that I have is that comcast is my ISP provider but my e-mail
account is through bellsouth. Can they work together using windows mail? I
have the same error message even using Port: 110.

Can anybody help? Thank you.

Bellsouth email setup instructions are here:

I don't see any evidence that they support port 587, which means only
port 25 is supported for SMTP. However, your ISP (Comcast) is likely to
block any attempt to use a port 25 server.

I suggest that you set up a Comcast account in Windows Mail, using
these setup instructions:
http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ/FaqDetails.ashx?Id=2288

Then use that account to do any sending. You may be able to change the
'From' address for that account to make it appear to your correspondents
that you are sending from Bellsouth. In any case, the Reply-To address
should be your Bellsouth address.
