Help! I am a novice. I have read all the posts on this subject and tried the
email approach using notepad and my IP. the ip address in my email did not
have all the lines shown in the memo (no ip address). Someone has connected
remotely to my computer, but I cannot connect to my friend. I use XP Pro and
he uses XP Home.

Please provide simple step by step assistance. I don't know the words like
same domain, private subnet microsoft.net etc.

I have spent days trying to do this and I am so frustrated. Thank you in
advance for your assistance.

Thank you for response. I feel so bad that I do not understand what you
wrote. I went to those sites and did not know where to look. So sorry.
Please continue to assist. I have read a lot of your posts and know how
helpful you can be.

Thank you,

Tell us how you use remote assistance? If you send email for some to help, he/she should have an invitation attachment.

i send by msn live messenger. I did try the email based on an article in the
help & support but when I went to put the IP address in the lines were not
the same as in the article and there was no place to replace the old IP with
the new one.

thanks again for your efforts.
