Error Message on Startup

B

Ben

I am running Windows XP and MS Office. Everytime I
startup, I get a message; "Cannot run 16 bit Windows
Program. Insufficient memory to run this application.
Quit one or mor Windows applications and then try again."

There appears to be no other impact other than the
nuisance of having to close the error message every
time. How can I find out what is causing this error?

Thanks

This error message usually comes from trying to run programs designed
for older operating systems (eg., DOS) in XP. Some program is trying to
run at startup that is failing. Go to Start>Run and type "msconfig"
without the quotes. Look on the Startup tab for the likely culprit and
uncheck the box. Click Apply and OK out.
