Error Message Display Driver - Instability

This is the problem I have been having (Error Message)
I have received an error message on a few occasions lately re Intel
Graphics Controller. Sometimes I cannot get any view on monitor until I
have shut down system completely and turned it on again after a pause
(the lucky number seems to be 2 restarts). Error Message reads:

"BCCode:ea BCP1:82BBE810 BCP2:82CF17DO BCP3:82CF52C8
BCP4:00000001 OSVer:5_1_2600 SP:1_0 Product:768_1

C:\WINDOWS\minidump\mini021604-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER2.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

The driver for the display device was unable to complete a drawing
operation. Please check with the device manufacturer for a driver
update.

The display driver for Intel[R] 82845G/GL Graphics Controller seems to
be responsible for the system instability.
I have noticed other 'odd' things re display (Defrag esp would cause display to change -bizarre color scheme and font sizes, which would repair when I shut down.) ...and various other.. I would appreciate any help; I have been reading all I can mostly on web sites, and find that I am not the only one to have such error messages. Comp is HP Pavillion 753N 2.53Ghz P4, 512 MB DDR SDRAM, 64MB DDR SDRAM . Today I temporarily lost my keyboard and mouse control, returned when I turned of comp. Comp is just over a year old. I would appreciate any help, ideas. I am learning as I go.
Email would be wonderful and I will check this site. Sadieokate3 (removethis)@aol.com. Thank you. (W XP Home).

With intel xp doesnt use the installation utility for setting up drivers of
any kind, you might uninstall thier drivers, restart computer, then reinstall
the chipset drivers for 845,you should also install the application accelerator
from intel,found in chip-set software.
