Error Message Code 39

3 days ago, I installed a Sony CW/RW Model CRX230A-U.
The first day its worked great, next day and since it
wont function properly. I was trying to install some
software and the system wont recognize my CD. I
unstalled the the CD and reinstalled it, I keep getting
the same error message, the device or driver is corrupt
or missing (Code 39).

I contatcted Sony and they said call Microsoft. I went
online with SOny and they gave me a link,

emgrerrorcodes.htm?qssnb=1. Two problems with that link,
no immediate help, need to wait until 17 Feb to listen to
a broadcast; (2) you need at least 28 to listen, I only
have dial up access and its 24K.

Any suggestions on relief?

Download and run the script file xp_cd_dvd_fix.vbs from the web site:

http://tinyurl.com/1q09

If the site is down, try after some more time. Ignore any errors from your
antivirus and allow the script to run. It will remove the incorrect registry
entries for the drive. No need to go through the cumbersome registry
editing.
