Error Message 0x800CCC78

Help!
I keep getting this message when trying to send
email out on my SMTP Server (stmp.mail.msn.com)

I have spent 4 hrs trying to figure this out.

I don't know where to look anymore.

Tast 'email account' - Sending and Receiving' reported
error (0x800CCC78): 'Unable to send the message. Please
verify the email address in your account properties. The
server responded: '

I HAVE verified everything...

You are using the wrong SMTP (not stmp) server;
smtp.email.msn.com

Thanks for catching my mistyping.
I actually do have SMTP server not STMP.
At work when I am on the LAN my settings work.

Alright. Have you tried it with "email" instead of "mail" in the server name
as well?

Also have you tried disabling your virusscanner and/or firewall? When you
are using XP; there is also a built-in firewall you can disable on your
networkcard/modem settings. If it works without it you need to update your
virusscan/firewall software or loosen security.
