I cannot send emails, tho I receive them just fine. I am traveling and
receive all messages when I log on. I keep getting error message:
(0x800CCC78) ' Unable to the send the message, please verify the email
address in your account properties. The server responded -530 Authentication
Required." I do not understand what the problem is or why I can receive
emails and not send any. It does not matter which email address I send.

The error message could not be more clear - you need to set your
authentication on the sending server. Contact your ISP for instructions on
what type of authentication you require.

Outlook 2000 - Windows XP - ISP = RoadRunner
Suddenly, yesterday afternoon received the error message 0x800ccc78. Could
not send emails all afternoon, until last night while on line doing other
things, the emails (that had been sitting in my outbox) went out
successfully. I thought it was a glitch that fixed itself. Now, today -
back to same error.
Soke with Roadrunner yesterday, we deleted accounts, reinstalled, etc. to no
avail. Bypassing Outlook (sending emails directly from Roadrunner's Webmail)
works fine.
The only solution I found on line referencing my particular error message is
related somehow to mindspring. I don't have mindspring; never have.

Error message: The message could not be sent because it rejected you as the
sender. Server response: '550 5.7.1 Outbound mail refused - 24.211.217.42 -
See http://help.rr.com/outboundemail - 070531' (Account 'myxuserxname' SMTP
Server: 'smtp-server.nc.rr.com' , Error Number: 0x800ccc78)

Any ideas?
