When I try to add a new e-mail account I get a 0X800CCC3E error message.
The e-mail account is with dway (direcway.com) via a proxy server (the
modem) with an HTTP address.
The proxy server has been set up in the LAN settings of Internet Explorer
and is working fine (dway is my ISP).
Could someone please help me sort this out as I cannot receive or send
e-mail via dway till this is sorted out.
Thanks
Douglas

You can't use an HTTP account for anything but Hotmail - nobody else
supports the required protocol (which is what that error message is telling
you). You should contact direcway to find out how to configure Outlook to
access your email.

Thank you Jeff - I appreciate your advice and will get hold of the dway tech
support services.

Im getting that same error, can someone help me. The error message says task
hotmail :folder:inbox sychronizing headers , reported error (0x800ccc3e) ,
the server does not support the required HTTP methods. the server reponded
'not implemented'

Outlook 2002 can only have one Hotmail account
Outlook 2003 allows multiple accounts.

"Bother," said Pooh as he struggled with the computer.

"It never does quite what I want."

"I wish Christopher Robin were here."
