Cannot RECEIVE e-mail -- error message 0x800CCC90

I use Outlook 2003 for e-mails. For the past two days, I have been unable to
RECEIVE any mail (I can send okay). Each time I get this error message:

Task 'pop3.direcway.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC90) : 'Your
incoming (POP3) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue
to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet
service provider (ISP). The server responded: -ERR Could not read message
file'

I can use a web portal and verify that my ISP is receiving my e-mails --
Outlook 2003 justy can;t download them.

The message is quite clear: your ISP's mail server is reporting an internal
error and it's not Outlook's problem. Just because you can see it via their
web interface doesn't mean they don't have a problem. It's their POP server
that's producing the error.
