Error in reloading "UNMOUTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME"

I wasn't paying attention when I loaded some old Iomega
driver for an old Zip disk. It was not XP compatable and
now the computer will not go into Windows XP. Instead I
get the blue screen and the error
measage "UNMOUTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". How can I fix this and
get back into Windows XP?

Power off
Desktop:...Open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
Laptop:... simply remove and reinsert the hard drive.

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.
