I am trying to load a fresh copy of XP home on a machine.
The setup starts and loads all device drivers at the
bottom of the screen. Then It says now starting windows
setup. It imidiatly goes to a blue screen and give this
message. Unmoutable_boot_volume. It does this even if I
swithch to a brand new HD and swith the IDE cable. I have
even tryed New Home CD's. ANy Help out there for me?

You are using the 80-conductor cable? Also, some more detail as to exactly
what the machine is would help.. if you do a google search on "unmountable
boot volume" you'll find quite a lot of information.

It looks like you've ruled out hard drive, cable and CD problems. Maybe the
problem is motherboard related. Have you tried installing another OS like
Windows 2000 or Windows 9x/Me to it?
