I am trying to re-install Windows XP on my Dell Computer.
I had 35 minutes left with the installation when the
screen with blank. I cut the computer off and restarted
the computer an obtain a stop error because of
Unmoutable_Boot_Volume. I tired safe mode and get the

Boot from the xp cd and restart the installation.

Check out the message called UNMOUTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME.
Looks like the same problem.

Hi,

Were you working on the system? That error can occur if the wrong cable is
used on an ATA66 or higher drive (needs 80 wire). Otherwise, it means that
the boot.ini file is pointing to the wrong location or is corrupt. Running
bootcfg from the Recovery Console by booting the WinXP CD can usually cure
this problem.

Why were you reinstalling?
