Error in applying Q832894

I downloaded Q832894 from MS download site. (Not through WindowsUpdate because I want to apply it to multiple computers.) When I try installing it, I get the error message that IE6 SP1 is necessary for this update. This is the version I am using! If I run WindowsUpdate, it recognizes I need this patch, and DOES install it. But when if I try to run the patch separately, I get the error message. (I have several identically equipped PC's.

It seems some previous patch has set IE6 to the wrong version number. (My guess.) Suggestions?

I'm not sure this helps because I already successfully applied the patch through WindowsUpdate. I'm hoping you can tell me why I can't apply it (to other computers) as a downloaded file.

Try that script on the other computers.
The message often really means that the patch has already been installed.

"This update requires Internet Explorer 6.0 to be installed.

Is it possible I downloaded the wrong version of this update?

If you saved the original download and that's what you're trying to install
then I don't know what the problem is. Have you tried downloading it on one
of those machines.
