Error 1719 when trying to install VirtualPC

Any known solution that actually work?
I'm getting "Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be
accessed. This can occur..." when I try to Install Virtual PC, but other
applications install just fine. So far only Virtual PC seem to be causing
any problems on this box (Vista Business 64-bit).

Hi Rick,

I have tried this (method 1) and it doesn't help. I still get the same
error. Method 2 isn't possible since there is no installer download for
Vista available.

That's why I only mentioned trying method 1.

What version of Vista are you trying to install VirtualPC to? It will not
install to Home Premium or Basic.

What version of Vista are you trying to install VirtualPC to? It will not

Hi,

While in safe mode, did you reregister both the 32 and 64 bit versions of
msiexec?

Virtual PC is a 32-bit application, so the critical one is the one in
syswow64.
