We have some printing software that also faxes and works perfectly
from windows 2000 servers. The same software installed on a windows
2003 server fails to fax and an application error log is generated.
The error log generated looks like

The fax was not submitted successfully.

The following error occurred: 1630.
This error code indicates the cause of the error.

Sender Machine Name: \\TEST-2003.
Sender User Name: user.
Sender Name: user.
Number of Recipients: 1.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Have looked around but can't find anything that would suggest the
cause of the error. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Neil

What document are you trying to fax? Do you have the application that can
understand(print) that document type on the machine that you are faxing
from? (For example if you are trying to fax a .ppt document from a Windows
2003 machine, do you have Powerpoint installed on the Windows 2003 machine?)

Hi Vinod,
Thanks for your response. Our software writes out a spool text file,
that is parsed and loaded as a bitmap file and then sent directly to
the printer. Our documents can be printed alright, it's only the fax
printer that we have trouble with.
Thanks,
Neil
