Error 1607 Problem installing Quicken

I keep getting an error message when I try to install
Quicken 2004. The problem seems to be in the Microsoft
Windows Installer Service but I cannot find a solution.
Intuits fix involves messing with the registry which I
really to not feel comfortable doing. Any suggestions.

Thanx - It looks like I am going to have to mess with my
registry.

Are you still having a problem? I found that InstallShield was sitting out there as a file and not a folder as it should be. I deleted the file then tried again and it worked. Do a search to see if you can find an InstallShield file and then delete it. The InstallShield folder should be in c:\program files\common files
