Error 1606 when installing Palm software

I recently upgraded from Windows Me to WinXP.
I am trying to re-install my Palm 4.1 software and it is
giving me this error:
"Error 1606. Could not access network
location "::\\Documnets and Settings\<username>\SendTo"

Installation does not continue or work at all. I have
read several KB articles about microsoft products giving
a similar error. I have tried all the suggestions,
without any luck...
--> Tried to uninstall program again, and remove all
traces of program... Went into Regedit to remove the
product ID
from 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curren
tVersion\Uninstall'... tried Windows Installer Cleanup
Utility, but the Palm software was not listed there. ...
I have also reinstalled WinXP!! None of these has worked.
For what it's worth, 1 hour on hold with Palm Support
told me it was a microsoft problem...

Hi dunnjk,

A fix that appears to work is to d/load, install and run the Windows
Installer CleanUp Utility:

Once the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility has been run, try
uninstalling/reinstalling the software to the same folder in which it was
previously installed.
