Hi

Well im asking here as a last resort, ive checked the MS KB (Microsoft
Knowledge Base) and it refers to this as a problem with the registry
key, of which i have looked for and it wasnt listed in the path that was
detailed in the KB article.

I am still getting this error when trying to install software can anyone
offer any help

Thanks

AJ

Try using this REG fix to reset the User Shell Folders values to Windows XP
defaults.
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/reg/shellfolders.reg

Download it, double click it and answer YES to the message...

Registry Editor

Are you sure you want to add the information in
Path to shellfolders.reg to the registry?

Yes No

From...

You receive an "Error 1606" error message when you try to install or remove
a Microsoft program
