Error 1402 Could not open key:

Hi, I am trying to load Quickbooks Pro 2006 (had a previous version 2003, but
I deleted it to see if that would help after I started getting this message).

This is the problem key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\.....\CLSID

It refers me to www.quickbooks.com/support/install.html, but that site
simply says it's a registry key permission error and that they don't provide
solution steps due to the complex nature of registry issues.

I bought Error Killer and ran it. It said I had over 500 problems and says
it fixed them, but I am still having the trouble. I really don't know too
much about computers...just know I need to get this software loaded so I can
continue the accounting for our church and school.

Can you help me solve this problem?

What a cop out from Quickbooks, run regedit and do a search for
quickbooks delete all references found , hit F3 to continue searching
the registry.
Do not attempt this if you are unfamiliar with editing the registry,
either way make a backup before deleting anything just in case ....
