I've got an avi file that was taken with my digital camera
(minolta dimage) when I try to play the file media player
(9 series) tries to download a codec. The download fails
and I get error 0xC00D119A. The error recommends changing
your internet security options. I have done this, but it
does not help.

Note:
1. other AVI files play on this PC
2. problem AVI file that doesn't play on problem PC will
play on other PCs
3. Same problem occurred with AVI file from a canon
digital camera.

I suspect I do really need a codec, but the download is
failing for me. I suspect the correct codec is not really
on the microsoft download site.

Any ideas?

I thought I'd answer my own question in case others have
the same problem.

My problem was solved by simply installing DirectX version
9.
