Epson Scanners

I had previously downloaded the "Twain Driver v5.53A" for Win2000/XP from
the Epson.com Web site. (When I saw that was the current version on Epson's
site, I did not bother to download them again.) I just double clicked the
file I had and let it run. The first time it did not complete successfully
(I do not remember exactly what the symptoms were). I think there was some
message that the install failed, and I clicked OK. Then Vista popped up its
dialog box offering to re-try the install with "recommended" settings, so I
let it try, and it succeeded. There's not anything else I can remember.

I have bought VueScan by Hamrick SOftware for my scanner - supports a lot of
scanners on Vista.... might help you???
 
I have Epson Perfection 3590. Downloaded driver from Epson - it then worked
slowly but then could not use Internet Explorer. Had to uninstall driver
and system restore. So you can only use one or the other!!! Epson say
they have no problems
 
I also have this scanner. When Epson released the Vista drivers I downloaded
and installed them. I have had no problems whatsoever, works exactly as it
did with XP. I am using "Home Premium".

A suggestion: I have a different Epson scanner, and am using Vista Home
Premium x64. When I installed *only* the scanner driver, I had no problems,
but when I tried adding Omnipage pro (to use the scanner for OCR work) I had
similar problems to you.

Perhaps it would be worth uninstalling any supplementary scanning software
you have - in case that is the problem, rather than the scanner driver
itself.

I have the Epson Photo RX 70 printer/scanner/copier and use Vista Business
with not problems at all. Luck me I guess???
