epson cx3200 problem

After clearing a jam in my epson cx3200 printer I get the message that there
is no paper in the tray and it will not feed. There is nothing in the
printer to cause a jam so any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it
please.

If this printer is similar internally to others in this series then there is no
sensor that actually detects whether there is paper in the tray.
What happens is there is a sensor (PE sensor) that consists of a small plastic
lever that interrupts an optical sennsor, this is located at the right centre
of the paper feed path and is very hard to see without removing the top and the
covers of the printer. When the printer feeds a sheet of paper the lever is
operated by the leading edge of the paper, if that does not happen within a
certain timeframe the printer assumes there was no paper in the tray. In the
event that the sheet is fed but the trailing edge of the paper does not pass
the sensor (and release the lever) in a certain timeframe the printer will
assume there has been a paper jam.
Do you get this error immediately on power on or only when you try to print?
If it happens at power on then the probability is that there is a small scrap
of paper caught under the plastic sensor arm, these can be very hard to find
without dissasembly. When you removed the jam was there a small piece of paper
missing from the sheet? If so there is the clue, that piece will be in the
printer and probably stuck under the sensor. Pushing a piece of heavy card
through the paper path sometimes helps to clear jams like this.
If it only happens when you try to print then the pick up rollers may not be
feeding paper correctly giving a false paper out report or there is something
pereventing the paper feeding (a scrap of paper most likely).
Hope this points you in the right direction.

Sounds like the paper sensor got pushed out of place or is covered in a
piece of scrap paper or other extraneous stuff.

Or, could also be a paper transport problem with the feed wheels
slipping on the paper and not advancing it. If so, (may have also
caused the jam to begin with) you will need to unglaze of clean the
paper transport wheels so they will grab the paper better.

Try some swabs with some rubbing alcohol.
