Epson 1670

Hi folks, I have a 1670 perfection. A mapping program I use advises to
scan bw aerial photographs at 256 grey scales, not colour for best results.
Im new to this scanner and would like suggestions on what settings to
choose to get 256 grey scales. Thanks gr

That would be 8 bit grey scale.
