Entrance on custom animation reverts to Appear

PowerPoint 2003
I've just designed my first presentation. When I close and reopen the file,
some of the Entrances on my custom animation revert to Appear and lose their
custom timings. The problem appears to be random.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi Peter

Congratulations on your first presentation! And for finding this font of all
knowledge so quickly...

A few questions:
Is PowerPoint all up to date?
Did you use any of the animation schemes?
Did you apply any animations to the master?

Thanks for your help Lucy. Sorry to be slow replying, but we are having power
outages.

I ran Microsoft Update and everything is already up-to-date.

Once again, various Entrances have randomly reverted to Appear.

The Presentation has 3 slide masters.
The Design Template for all 3 masters is Clouds.
The Animation scheme for all 3 masters is No Animation
There is no custom animation on any slide master.

I made a copy of my presentation and tried deleting the slide masters, but I
can only delete 2.

I don't need the slide masters. Is there any way I can remove them without
losing all my custom animation, background, etc?

Hi Peter

Eek to power outages :-(

Slide masters are necessary - they are what the slides are based on so you
can put things you want to appear on every slide on them (like a logo, a
particular colour background etc) and they control font size & colour etc
(and some other stuff I'm not going to get into right now). The idea is to
make slides consistent & updating all your slides at once easier. There's
more info here:

Anyway, masters aren't the issue (thanks for answering the questions). If
you want to send me a copy of the ppt I'll have a look at it for you.
