Entrance animation defaults

In Powerpoint 2007 - Custom Animation:
Whenever I "Add Effect" -> "Entrance" and choose an option ("Wipe" for
example or "Box") I get a default "Direction". Thus the default for "Wipe"
is "From Bottom" and for "Box" is "In".
If you want to "Wipe From Left" or "Box Out", the direction can be changed.
But it is very frustrating and time-consuming to do this many times.
Therefore, I would like to know if it is possible to change the defaults.

I'm afraid this is not possible, at least not in versions 2003/2007, what
PPT 2010 brings I cannot say.
