"End Program - Win Min" Message

The above message box shows up every time I turn off my
notebook (Compaq Presario 2500 running XP Home Edition).
If the process which is supposedly still running is
allowed to complete then the turn off process starts all
over again and again... If I click the "end now" box
then the computer will turn off.

Is Win Min really part of XP or is it some adware,
spyware or another type of garbage?

How can I get a clean shut down of my notebook?

You've got spyware, adware, a trojan, a search engine hijacker, or a home
page hijacker.

I've run all of those except HiJackThis. What does it do

HijackThis is more advanced and can be confusing to use, but it's great. It
identifies files and registry entires of possible spyware, then list it in a
log. You usually take this log(unless your an advanced user) and post it to
a hijackthis forum. Then a hijackthis expert will look it over and tell you
what you need the program to fix. It isn't as automatic as the other
cleaners but can find/clean those stubborn ones that the others don't
because of its manual functions and help from experts.
