Enabling the RPC service

I don't seem to be able to re-enable the RPC service having disabled it by mistake. I've tried bringing the PC up in safe mode but when I click on properties for this service, no properties window is displayed. I have also lost my start menu since I disabled this service - any ideas

Use your WinXP CD and boot to the Recovery Console:
1. Type the following command: Enable RPCSS Service_Auto_Start
2. Press the Enter key
3. Type: exit
4. Press Return
The computer will now restart.
