Enabling remote desktop connection remotely

Yeah it took us all a little while to find that remote tab under the system properties to enable remote desktop. Since I didnt figured it out right away because of deadlines related to other issues...im sure we can all relate to that. i didnt spend more than a few minutes to figure it out before i gave up on it. it wasnt until i was done deploying windows xp that i finally decided to look into it when i finally figured it out. Does anybody has any idea of how to turn on remote desktop remotely? any registry hacks, third party utilities (other than remote control) a management console, group policy or anything that can help me do this?

You can do this via GP...

From a MS posting:

Then to actually force RDP to be enabled on a Windows XP Professional
Machine
(Disabled by default) you must set the following policy to "DISABLED"

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows
Components\Terminal
Services\Do Not Allow New Client Connections.

Set this to "Disabled" and run GPUPDATE on the XP client. You can
verify
that
it has been enabled by right clicking on "My computer" and choosing
properties, clicking on the Remote Tab and checking that the "Allow
users to
connect remotely to this computer" is greyed out and checked.

This is the registry setting you can change remotely.
