Thank you for clarifying this to me. I did not understand what the
intention was. When I went to the site and saw my previous postings, I
thought he wanted me to read something and try something. I was somehow taken
aback. In fact, when R. Urban replied right before you, I went back to the
site that P Bear had given and got quite confused. Again, I thought that the
cf was directed to me. I am sorry for this misunderstanding, and thank you
again.

Article ID 315270 did not work for me

On the Intel site I checked my chipset using their utility, down loaded the
appropriate "Application Accelerator" and installed it.

This cleared up the problem.

SP2 and xp repair started my little anventure into this realm.

I have been searching for a solution to this problem since last year and
started posting at the beginning of the current one . Wildbill's
recommendation (see Pagefile.sys MISSING! postings and suggestions)reached me
by e-mail last May, but I was away and I tried it only today. IT IS THE ONLY
SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM I HAD. Thanks a lot, wildbill. Simple and effective.
