embeded pictures don't show- no red X

I have been sent an email (to Outlook) that should contain a screen shot
embedded in the email. I can not view it. My boss who gets a copy of my
emails can see it. If he forwards it to me I can not see it. If I forward
his forward to my Hotmail account I can see it. I don't see the red X like
one would see if it were being blocked. I've unchecked the box that says
don't download pictures automatically in HTML, and had the person send it
again - this doesn't work either. It is not there as an attachemtn either.
- please help! It's important for my job that I can see these screen shots!
