Outlook 2003 quit displaying screen shots

Brian

I often have clients e-mail screen shots embedded in the body of HTML e-mail
messages. My Outlook 2003 (e-mail via POP client, not Exchange), quit
displaying them recently. I see only a red X; however, the screen shot
appears when I forward or reply.

These are not links to an external server, but screen shots embedded by
pasting them into the body of the e-mail, not attaching them.

I already have the "Don't download pictures..." unchecked and have tried
re-checking, applying, then clearing this & applying, to no avail.

What am I missing here?

I found the answer - something corrupted or full in the Outlook temporary
folder. Here is my version of the answer:

Close Outlook
Run Regedit
Find this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security\OutlookSecureTempFolder
Copy the value & paste into Windows Explorer address bar to navigate to it
Empty the folder
Restart Outlook
